About Iris
At my core, I’m someone driven by curiosity, culture, and connection. As a native Houstonian and shaped by my Iranian-Mexican heritage, I’ve always been drawn to the stories that live between identities, communities, and histories. I care deeply about understanding people beyond the surface—what they’ve lived through, what they carry, and how their experiences shape the world around them. Whether through journalism or film, I’m intentional about creating work that is honest, thoughtful, and rooted in real human experiences.
Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country, a place that sparked my curiosity and deepened my desire to understand the world around me. I began my journalism career at the University of Texas at Austin, later working in the Rio Grande Valley as an investigative reporter covering local government, immigration, and human rights.
I transitioned into film as an associate producer for award-winning filmmaker Colin Rogero, where I helped bring impactful stories to life on a larger scale. Building on that experience, I founded Iris Media LLC, a full-service production company offering everything from corporate content and music videos to social media strategy, creative storytelling, and photography.
